Not as strong as the first entry in this series, but it was okay! The action in the last quarter of the book was the best part. Spending the long, cold winter with the Mammoth Camp was very boring, and took up a bigger portion of the book than I expected.

Book 3. Ayla and Jondalar meet the Mammoth Hunters. Another group of modern men and women living in the European tundra. This book has a miscommunication trope between Ayla and Jondalar that basically stretches through the entire book and is super annoying.
