Still enjoying this series, and the slower narrative that comes with this genre. A nice audiobook before bed.

My favourite plot of this book is with Rydag, but I think [a:Jean M Auel|48176966|Jean M Auel|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] missed a trick by not giving him a Wolf as his totem!

Time to take a break before #4 I think.

Just when I was feeling a little like I wanted a break from the series, it made me cry. I really do care about these characters.

35 hours of Jondalar being jealous of Ayla and Ayla still not understanding how things work…

So much miscommunication it was getting annoying…

You could have taken out 15 chapters and you would pile have had the same story…
Not my favorite of the series

Listened to this as an audiobook.

As with the second book, I was a bit worried that this wouldn't hold up, because it changes the setting fairly dramatically. I didn't give it too much thought though, I was too busy being infuriated by the ending of Valley of Horses, which stopped literally mid conversation, so mostly I just needed that gratification of finishing the thought. Sometimes, I kind of want to punch Jondalar in his giant dick.

Loved the world building and prehistoric anecdotes and clearly a lot of research has gone into the base of this story, but the drawn out love triangle was just tedious as it continued throughout the entire book.
