I just finished listening to the audio version narrated by the very talented James R Cheatham - he really brings it to life!
I wrote the biblical retellings series for myself, initially. Scripture is filled with admonitions to keep it--the wisdom of God's word--before our eyes, and to hide it in our hearts. In return, like seeds planted, it will yield amazing rewards: length of days, peace, favor and high esteem with God and man, direction for our lives, health to our flesh and strength to our bones, increase and prosperity (Prov 3), to name a few. These retellings were part of my own personal attempt to keep my heart with all diligence (by focusing upon the Word), for out of it spring the issues of life (Prov 4:23). So I used my imagination to bring stories of God's faithfulness to life, to remind myself that with Him, all things truly are possible.
If they can do the same for someone else, too, that's absolutely fantastic.
