A soft and fluffy novella
Each story in the Serendipitous Love series gets more and more interesting. Who would have thought of a restaurant called Stacks that specializes in homemade (with real ingredients - nothing fake) pancakes, old-fashioned cured meat, and delectable syrups? Mrs. Jones that's who! Love the Stacks emblem!! Sydnee was a bit annoying, but I chuck it up to her overprotective parents and being spoiled. Harlen brought sensibility and balance to the whole family dynamic. This one makes you feel good.

Meh
The story was okay. It was cutesy and predictable. The drama between Sydney and her father got to be a little exhausting. What I did really like about the story was the leading man. Harlan was such an upstanding, decent man. I could easily fall for a man like him.

I think Sydnee and Harlan are my least loved couple. I just didn't feel that same connection to them that I felt with other characters in this series. However, I was a fan of the plot and the ongoing conversation about parents and how what they think is best for you is sometimes to your detriment. Despite my lack of passion for this particular relationship/these characters, as always the author has a great writing style and her dialogue leaves me in stitches every time.

This was such a good read. I finished reading The Fifth Season prior to this and this book definitely felt like a balm for my wounded soul, lol.
I really enjoyed watching Sydnee and Harlan's love story unfold. Sydnee's a sweetheart but not a push over (we love to see it) and Harlan's lowkey a cinnamon role (he might be my favorite male MC from a C.C. Jones story). I thought they were perfect for each other. They gave me tension, steam, intimacy, and vulnerability and my heart was here for it.
**Random side note: I was here for the relationship between Sydnee and her mom. Her mom was the best.

This book was actually novella length. A young couple who were split apart over bad feelings get a second chance to tackle romance now that they're grown. Their relationship was pretty smooth with most of the drama coming from Sydnee's father, who loves her but still acts like a selfish bully and treats her like a rebellious child whenever she clearly and maturely expresses her plans for her own future.
