Listen, if I were a man I’d be insulted by this book which gives them the emotional intelligence of a toddler. However, the general concept of respecting your own needs and holding to them, and of keeping your personhood intact is good.
Plus some of the advice was so ridiculous it made me laugh out loud. +1 star for that. Did you know you should never drink with a man??? Don’t wear lingerie only leave it out for him to see without ever inviting him to your house. Only date men who can see through walls.

Loved reading this book!! So informative but still entertaining and witty. Will definitely read again.
Thought this book would be more evidence based and informative than it was. Very anecdotal, sweeping generalisations of men, encourages manipulation and lack of transparency, and I would not like to date any of the type of men mentioned in this book who "love bitches".
That being said, the 2 stars remain because I do like the story of the woman invited on a luxury cruise who declines for her tupperware party, and the man who admires that. The fact I still remember that section and the teachings from it mean I did glean some value from the message of this book, but did not love it overall.

I started reading this book when I was in a very confused stage in my life - This book made me realise all the mistakes I had been making and all the things I had been doing right. I loved the emphasis on dignity and financial freedom for women, and the chapter on men's way of thinking was also helpful.
Could not get past the second chapter. Yeah! It's that bad, and tbh, somehow insults one's intellect. Can't believe a uni professor recommended it to us. And yet we wonder why relationships are a mess.
I only read this book because it was given to me by someone who thought it would be helpful. While I agree that there is some good advice in there, I generally don't live my life this way and don't care to change. I don't want a man who wants a bitch.
