I find these books difficult to rate and review because while I do have my preferences within the series, (this one is probably tied with book number two as my least favorite of them all so far) I just adore the series and characters as a whole. I think because of how the books are written where they run one into the other with all these threads running across every book, it makes it feel just like one big story that’s hard to tease apart, despite the clear differences between every floor. I think my favorite part of this book was the

conclusion of Signet’s storyline, which turned out to be surprisingly poignant

. My least favorite part was

Katia leaving the party. I know with the guild system he’s still in close contact with all of the characters we know and love but I just really miss the trio (quartet with my bb Mongo) of Carl, Donut, and Katia out there kicking ass. I’m also not convinced of the Katia+Dave storyline and I’m now living in dread of what will happen to Katia next after the epilogue. Damn you Matt for making us love her and then putting her in this horrible position.
