This was the longest book in the series so far, and took a while to get through. Lots of characters, but most were introduced in previous books. Finished in 7 hours, 16 minutes.

The Butcher's Masquerade delivers us to the 6th floor, and to something we've been building up to for a while: bounty hunters. Carl and Donut continue to make their way through the dungeon with plenty of crazy plans (and people). I love how Carl tries so hard to stay true to himself and to save as many people as possible. And Donut is an absolute icon. Her continued growth through the series is mind-blowingly good.

Matt Dinniman is an absolute genius with how he crafts the world and the characters. Some things are so unexpected, and I love how he gets you to care about these characters and how immersive the world he's created is. I laughed, I cried, and I WILL be reading the next novel.
