Whilst it was lovely to see the progression of Alenia's powers (especially considering the last book), her confidence, and politcal understanding, I would never have finished this book if I started with this series - instead of the Crows duology. The story is not boring, but it does drag at times and frankly, I'm not the biggest fan of Mal. His frustrations and annoyance is understandable, but it tends to comes off as needy, dismissive and frankly annoying.

If it wasn't for Nikolai, I probably would have put down the book and given up. Instead, I just took loads of breaks and read other stuff in between.

Questo libro! QUESTO LIBRO!
Ancora meglio del primo! Siege and store mi ha lasciato con il fiato sospeso per tutto il libro e certo non mi aspettavo un finale così sconvolgente!
Le ultime pagine devo averle lette senza emettere un solo respiro perché quando sono arrivata all'ultima pagina mi girava pure leggermente la testa!
Nonostante tutto ciò che è accaduto non abbandono la mia ship (DARKLINA WILL RISE.. Or not..) ho trovato pure una "di riserva" quindi la mia nuova classifica è:
1 DARKLINA
2 nuova ship
3 MALINA.. Preferirei vedere Alina con the Apparat piuttosto che con Mal.. E ho detto tutto!
Secondo me il loro rapporto si aggiusterebbe se si limitassero ad un rapporto fraterno più che amoroso, per non parlare del fatto che Mal non è certo il personaggio scritto meglio..
Aspetterò per leggere il terzo perché non voglio finire subito questa meravigliosa trilogia ma non vedo comunque l'ora di iniziare Ruin and Rising!
