I would say I liked the book, but didn’t love it. I definitely preferred the first one. The emotions are beautifully written, and I really enjoyed that aspect. However, the romance felt a little too cringy and overly lovey-dovey for me. It made everything seem almost too perfect, both in Nick and Charlie’s relationship and in their interactions with others. The artwork, though, is still absolutely stunning.

Alice is a GREAT author. The way she captures every emotion is just beautiful and pure. also, going deeper into the characters' personalities just makes the second book even better than the first one.
The parts where Nick struggles with his identity are so transparent and well written, that they even made me feel like i was there by his side the whole time.
Now Charlie... he is the warmest and most adorable person ever. In this book we get to know more about him and go deeper into his past with bullying and rejection, traumatic experience that still haunts him a bit.
Everything just goes together so perfectly. It could not have been better.
Also, the scene during band practice.. plsss :')) it was so heartwarming to finally see nick comfortable in his own skin and confidently telling Tara about it.
And Tara, I JUST LOVE HER. She's adorable and so welcoming. I really hope they go on a double date soon :))
