This is my second Margret Atwood book and I’m quickly discovering I LOVE her work.
I read the first in this series last year and remember the major plot points but this did such a great job of incorporating and recapping the first one it wasn’t an issue. I love how the characters were tied together and how she brought the two story lines together.
The Gardners are so fascinating and so relevant. The whole time I was reading this I just keep thinking how current society is quickly moving in the direction of the events in this book. Atwood’s writing is so relevant to today’s issues and really makes you refocus and look at things differently. I can’t wait to read the conclusion to this trilogy soon.

YotF adds depth to the world of O&C. Hearing the narratives of two women feels particularly important as they struggle and meander through isolation and fear thrust upon them by acts of terrorism. Such is the way of femininity, I fear. However, I do believe I enjoyed this one just a little more than its predecessor!

Well, I liked this... It was only around the ending where I could feel that this was the second book in a trilogy and I was missing out on some parts. I'm very disappointed in myself that I would inadvertently start in the middle of a trilogy. In my defense, though, I listened to it on audio and picked it up last minute for a road trip. And it didn't say on the case that it was a trilogy. So there.
