I got bored, and it felt like the love interests were taking too long to confess. The relationship seemed very unrealistic, and the main character was cringy in my opinion. I couldn’t figure out why the rich guy liked him, though maybe I would have if I finished the book. I don’t care to finish the book though, it was that boring.

This a sweet story, and I particularly enjoyed that the characters of this romance happened to be gay Asian-Anerican teenagers, but that wasn't The Point. Their families just accepted them for who they are. There are a few moments that made me "Awww," both romance ones and family ones, but a lot of the time it was hard to feel the emotions I think the author was trying to evoke. I'm also not a huge fan of the solution to life problems being "get a rich boyfriend; it's okay if he's nice." While I do appreciate the theme that we all help each other more than to we know, and that it's important to accept help, eff capitalism. I can't suspend my knowledge that Theo's family money is probably dirty, especially because his rich dad is the villain.

“Giving your heart to someone is like learning to ride a bike. You’ll skin your elbows and knees, but the pain will pass. You’ll heal. And one day, the scars will be a memory, not of falling, but of getting up again.”
