One of my least favorite characters from the series. Way to Whiney.

Está bien el hecho de que le den algo más de trasfondo a Wesson, pero me ha parecido mucho más flojo que los otros libros de King's Dark Tidings. A ver que depara el último que hay por ahora

I enjoyed this book as I found Wesson to be an interesting character while reading Kade’s series “King’s Dark Tidings”. I do like origin stories as well, but I couldn’t give this book a higher rating just because the amount of whining & pleading that went on in this story. I understand that Wesson was traumatised when his powers manifested, but the extent that every adult wanted him to go “this way” & Wesson wanted to go “that way” became a bit tedious after a time. How Wesson compensated for his powers was brilliant & even while attending the battle academy his technique for standing up for himself was perfect. This book had some good points & if there’s a sequel that comes out later I will read it as I do enjoy Kade’s writing style.

An enjoyable coming-of-age story slightly marred by frustration with the premise. The protagonist rejects being a battlemage sure, but he barely explores the helpful aspect of his primary talents. I also found the assassin's motivations at the end a little unclear and undeveloped.

I'd have liked some clue as to what was going on with his childhood crush. I assume that's a setup for book two. And yes, I fully intend to continue with this series. I've enjoyed all of the Kade books I've read so far, so why not?
