This book definitely could have done with some more beta readers, to get a better feeling for where some more explanation would be helpful. Parts were confusing or seemed to contradict previous bits. My suspicion is that this is one of Alex Beaumont's first books. Although Cale may have been part of the process it didn't feel like his other books.
