DNF'd this; I'm a well experienced reader and I think I've only ever DNF'd a handful of books if that adds some perspective. How this became a bestseller and so well loved I have no idea; I was really hoping to enjoy this. I only made it through a few chapters before the way the narrator irritated me excessively for the way she so disrespectfully describes her "friends" to you. So incredibly shallow with a very dumb premise of a pair of pants fitting everyone and making a "sisterhood" with a bunch of silly rules over it. I was looking for a feel good women's novel and found a vapid shallow nothingness.

I thought this book was pretty interesting for the first half. Towards the end it sorta dragged on and I got bored.

This is a nice story about adolescent friendship. It reminds me of the summer I became blood sisters with Heidi Johnson, sending letters signed “S.W.A.K. (sealed with a kiss).” These days my friends and I have “magical” pants that fit the range of our shapes and sizes, but our story would be called “Sisterhood of the Traveling Maternity Pants.”

This did not disappoint.  It was my first tea-cup TBR pick of 2025.  I purchased this years and years ago probably from a thrift store or used book shop.  I used to buy way more then I had time to read. (Wait...I still do that, somethings never change I guess).  

The movie didn't differ from the book too much.  It made me remember how sad the movie actually was.  I find you could see more of the struggles with the individual girls stories written out.  It kind of makes me want to re-watch the movie again.
