Pretty good, overall. The smut makes up for the lack of depth for the characters. I figured out Jon was James's brother fairly early on, but Smee was a bit of a surprise.
The smut was good, if a little on the vanilla side. And the airway restriction was definitely NOT the proper technique! You will kill someone if you do this as it's told in the book!
I had hoped for a better telling of this. It has so many possibilities to be a great dark romance. It just felt rushed. Those are the negatives.
Now, the positives!
It's definitely a dirty book, I have to work at keeping a straight face while reading in public. There were some really good twists, I would have hoped the "villain to villain to villain monologue" would have contained more info, to the other character. I loved that Wendy pulled the trigger at the end, though I would have wanted James to give her "permission" for it. "would you like some matches?" As he held the gun on her father, would have been epic! The epilogue was perfect for a wrap up.
Overall, definitely recommend for a quick read with good, clean smut.

I'm assuming it's because this author is American that she thinks English people speak the way that James does, but I can absolutely assure you that no one except old ladies from Yorkshire call people "pet". To use it during sex is literally the unsexiest thing I have ever heard.
