Oh my WORD this was a very dark retelling of Aladdin! It was SHOCKINGLY violent in some places. I mean, really really violent. The real fairy tale of Aladdin is pretty gruesome anyhow, but I was shocked since this is a retelling of the Disney version. Despite my shock, it was actually a really strong story. I always like Jasmine. She's a strong princess. Aladdin is just as likable as in the movie. Overall a great book!

2nd time: This book is really terrible. The story is okay, but the description is abominable!! For a retelling of a fairytale, it was fine, and I'm sure plenty of others will like it. I can't stand the writing.
