This wasn't for me. It reminded me of the very first romance books I picked up where everything was super quick with the storyline, character reactions and relationships with minimal background.
Evie was a very frustrating heroine and very immature. She needed to have a mature outlook to be matched with someone like Declan. Although, Declan wasn't much better. For an older man, he was very reactive and overbearing with no breathing space whatsoever. They both contradicted what they said or did and it was like reading a romance about high school students, not adults.
All the characters in this book have ridiculous reasons for carrying out even more ridiculous actions. The backgrounds of everyone are so extreme and apparently, it means they can all be selfish and mean. I didn't get to like any of the characters.

I don't know who said it or where I saw it but they said, " No thanks, I would like a little bit of plot with my smut." And I couldn't agree more with it because if I were to count the pages properly less than half would be the plot and more than half would be just smut.

The book was well written but the characters really annoyed me. Much of the plot was so unnecessary and could be prevented, if they had talked with each other and been honest.

3-3.5⭐️ I had higher hopes for this book. Dare I say, there could have been a little less smut. And the betrayal was just dropped and all over the place, IMO. Declan left Everly out of his plan but also left the reader out too
