Charming and absolutely random stories about animals on an English farm. The narrator obviously loves all her animals and has made some fascinating observations, which made me want to visit her farm. Nevertheless, the book would have profited from even a little editorial attention. As it is now, the book is all over the place, pays in depth attention to details that aren't really essential and glosses over the more interesting bits, while having no structure at all.

This book is a lovely step into a family farm and their way of working with cattle, sheep, and chickens. Their deep and personal relationships allow them to tell stories of their animals in a very loving way. You learn so much more about the strength and personality of the creatures. I listened to this as an audiobook and found Rosamund's clear affection for her farm really endearing. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed as much without her warmth, so would especially recommend it as an audiobook.
