What a fun story! Just when I thought we were headed down a standard princess trope, there was a mysterious death. I loved the character growth. I had to pick up other books at night because I would find myself reading into the wee hours. Perfect summer read!

I picked this book up today because JustAli's youtube channel said it was a young adult mystery thriller, and the synopsis sounded really intriguing. I went outside in the sunshine and picked up my kindle, not expecting to get HOOKED. I couldn't put this book down, and I let myself read this slower (5ish hours) instead of absolutely devouring it. I can't wait for the second book in the series to come out. There was so many plot twists and turns and I never predicted the outcomes. Here are my thoughts on the characters:

Evan/ Evangeline: 9/10- definitely a mc that I liked. She was smart and funny, and her thoughts were interesting to listen to. Every situation that happened she was on top of, and she didn't just sit and bed and cry.

Maisie/ Mary: 8.5/10- love her protectiveness

Helene- 3/10- don't like you

Evan's mom: 7/10 idk what to say

Alexander (dad): 8/10

Kit: 9.25/10: always there for her :))))))

Ben: 0/10- no words

Jasper- -11010101010101010/10 literally no words
