This one was slow to start but then picked up the pace with lots of twists and turns. A decent addition to murdery mysteries that teens will eat up. I personally thought it was okay and I’ll probably forget about it within a week.
2.5/3 stars. nothing groundbreaking by any means, but it was short and kept my attention

They did not really sing "We're All in this Together" from High School Musical in this... did they? Please tell me I imagined that part. Ooofta.
While I am not the target demographic, I usually like April Henry. This started decent, and I really liked the Agatha Christie feel this had initially... but it just got more and more combobulated as time went on. For me, things started going south after we learned of the prank the "robotics" team played. I couldn't really understand how everyone so quickly got over the prank aspect of what was going on. It seemed to me, there should have been a lot more doubt and indifference when other things kept happening. It was hard to keep things straight, and even harder to understand character motivations for what was happening. Overall, there was just so much that didn't make any sense. Not to mention, the author shoved just about every possible scenario, every character archetype/stereotype, every category tag all into one book and it just didn't really mesh well.
Sidenote, these must be the most irresponsible adults I've ever witnessed. Let's fake your hanging! Two girls disappear? Let's just not go look for them or anything. Want to go out in a blizzard to investigate what looks like blood out in the snow? Go for it! Find some vodka? Let me have a sip and then I'll hand it right back. The teens are just running the show from start to finish!

This was really good – the twist was brilliant – never saw that coming

Started out strong, but the ending was a bit strange and confusing. Not shocking, though.
