I've read almost all of April Henry's books and this may be the one I've enjoyed the least?? I feel like there was too much build up and not enough pay off for a story this short, and I really wasn't invested in the characters at all. Like, it was fine! But it was almost completely forgettable.

This was fine...I love April Henry for reluctant readers, and think they will like this. But I felt that the twists were so wild and did not make sense.
It took a long time for the narrative to pick up steam, but I have to admit, I kept coming back because I was dying to know what happens.
This was lowkey not good but I devoured the whole thing in one morning and I love books about theater kids so I can't complain.
I picked up TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE from my library on a whim as it was prominently displayed and it drew me in. I read the blurb and had high hopes it would provide a few hours of escapist reading -- and it did.
It's a YA thriller/mystery set during a Midwest snowstorm that strands a group of theatre kids at a creepy motel where there had been brutal murders a few decades ago. TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE is the first book by April Henry that I've read and I enjoyed her writing. The pacing was good, the tension high, and the characters believable. I figured out the first part of the mystery but there were enough surprises to keep me entertained.
Would I read another April Henry book? Yes, I definitely pick up another one.

A ouija board, a bunch of theater kids, and a murder mystery… This has all the makings for something I would love, but unfortunately it just didn’t do it for me.
Not a bad locked room thriller! It was predictable, but still an enjoyable read.
