Ohhh this was very nice! I really enjoyed this ending, lots of character building and just growing stronger as a person, I loved it! Adraa and Jatin had some growth throughout this book that I quite liked. Their romance amd banter just top notch as the first book. The other characters were also really well established and continued and I liked their influence to the plot! The storyline twisted and turned in beautiful plot twists that I sometimes really didnt see coming! The ending was quite emotional and I actually thought we could get a third book out of this though it has a neat conclusion that doesnt leave any questions!!! There is definitely room for more and I would immediately pick up another book about those two!!

I was given a copy of Bound by Firelight by Dana Swift for free as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This copy was provided through Net Galley.

Cast in Firelight (Wickery #1)
Stars: 4.5 out of 5 stars (maybe 5 stars actually)

Bound by Firelight (Wickery #2)
3 out of 5 stars

And just like that, it was over... I thought this was going to be a trilogy... Jokes on me, I guess. It is not the greatest surprise to have a series become a duology when you expected a trilogy.

What I liked:
The cover is GORGEOUS and really stands out from other YA fantasy covers that I have seen. Props to that. The characters were very well crafted and conversations did not feel forced. I felt invested in the main characters

What I didn't like: The timing of the story between the two main characters, Jatin and Adraa, felt very off since they were separated for a large part of the story. I felt like it could have gone on longer and the ending fleshed out. It was wrapped up too quickly. The plot was just okay and the side characters were lacking.

The first was favorable to me.

4.5
The first book was definetly, better, but I still loved this one too! There were just a lot more dire things happening, so at times it lost some of the lightheartedness from the first book.

4.5 ⭐️
I don’t know if I will ever be able to get over these two books. I honestly absolutely LOVED both books and this was the perfect sequel to ‘Cast in Firelight’ (which I rated 5 stars).

This book picks up where CiN previously left off. Adraa is put on trial for the eruption of Mount Gandhak. The eruption has left Belwar in complete chaos and distrust for the Belwar family. Adraa is sentenced to life in the dome.

If you’ve read my review for CiN, you already know how much I love the magic system in this world. I adore how powerful and creative Adraa is with her magic. And for this book I really really enjoyed the plot. There were so many good plot twists and so many lovable characters!

Adraa and Jatin has definitely made it to my ‘fav couples’ list! This book was an emotional roller coaster for me. I was extremely engaged and it was written so well! I highly highly recommend you picking this duology up!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!!

I may be the luckiest person alive because I got to read this fantastic book and because I'm on tour for this book!!
It has a beautiful cover aswell as a very engaging story. I'll give you three words. Spellbinding. Magical. Entrancing.
A very unique array of characters and action on every page (quite literally

I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

*Spoilers for book one ahead*

After saving her kingdom, Adraa is falsely accused of causing all of the destruction. Found guilty of her crimes, she is sentenced to life in the Dome, Belwar's highest-level prison. Meanwhile, Jatin has been trying (and failing) at proposing. Things get even more complicated when Adraa is thrown in prison. Determined to get her back, Jatin begins plotting a dangerous rescue mission.

I think I'm in the minority, but I actually liked this sequel more than book 1! It had a lot of action and high stakes, so I was very intrigued by the story!

I absolutely adore Adraa and Jatin's relationship! They really balance each other out. Their scenes together tend to be my favorites!

I also want to point out that this book, like the first, has chapter titles! These days, most books have done away with chapter titles. I miss seeing them, so I was glad that book 2 still had them!

As I already said, this book was action-packed! However, there were a few things that bothered me. I hate the trope where the lovers are separated for most of the book! That's a personal preference, but I wish Adraa and Jatin had more time together. There was also a very fleeting and pointless love triangle (if it can even be called that...) which was just unnecessary.

The ending of this book was satisfying and conclusive enough to keep me happy, but it felt a little rushed and abrupt. I'm not sure if there will be a book three, but I feel like I need a little more closure.

Overall, this book was enjoyable and I had a hard time putting it down! I had a few issues with it, but I still liked it! Fans of the first book should give this one a shot! I'd recommend this series to YA fantasy romance fans who enjoy the arranged marriage trope and lots of action/magical battles.
