I think this is a terrific beginning-to-read book because it doesn't feel like a typical beginning-to-read book, but it contains key components. There are basic vocabulary words, repetition of sight words, etc. The story is also empowering to young audiences because there are probably many young children who feel they aren't listened to but have something important to say.
