Since Hitchcock's adaptation of this book is very faithful to the source material, it kind of goes without saying that this book is really good. I loved it. A definite must-read for any horror fan.
I had read this book for my college literature class. I personally didn’t like it too much. This is not my genre so this book wasn’t for me.

I read this because the movie is one of my favorites of all time. Obviously, I love the story, but the writing was VERY mediocre. This is one of the cases where the movie is much better than the book. Hitchcock really tightened the narrative and the script coupled with the performances fleshed out better characters than Bloch did.
