I cried reading this book. The story is great and i loved the characters. The POVs change but it’s great. Typical for a Sarah J. Maas book: the last 100 pages everything’s on fire.

Why did Sorscha have to die. What happened to Petrahs Wyvern is so sad. So many bad things happened but it was also funny omg. The end was so so hurtful to read. Ngl, Chaols POVs are kinda boring. I pray that Aedion meets Aelin. The moment between Maeve and Aelin was soo savage (with the citizens not being out of stone). And what happened to Dorian… it broke my heart so much…

I believe this might be my favorite so far. Watching Celena work through her trauma was just as heartbreaking as it was cathartic. 
My only qualm, was the switch between POVs. It did throw me an off once in a while because I would be so invested in that current story and then I’d be swiped away to something else. I did think it helped paint the picture but man was this book good. I loved how SJM was also able to tie together so many small moments from the other books and Celena’s past to end with such a bang. It was truly a great book with wonderful character development, world-building, introduction to new characters and spaces, and overall the build up of this powerful enemy. Loved it!

Almost perfect. I just felt like some of the POV’s just made it drag horribly. But overall my favorite book in the series by far
