I felt like the beginning of the book dragged a bit, but as always with sjm books the second half of the book was a whirlwind. I thought the progression of the story was interesting, and am eager to pick up the next book in the series.

Heir of Fire will always be one of my favourite throne of glass books, for the beautiful way that SJM writes Celaena's journey through grief and pain that makes me so proud of her growth. HoF follows Celeana as she develops her magic, her determination and general state of being an icon. But this is also Chaol's book as he tries to reckon with his new found knowledge, and Dorian's as he struggles to hide his secrets. The introduction of new characters such as Rowan, Manon and Aedion and the exploration of new places are the start of the widening of the TOG world into the behemoth it will become. Truly the beginning of Aelin's path, and I can't wait to see where she goes next.

So good but definitely a world building book. Lots of interwoven plots and different POV. Last 150 pages are VERY fast paced and make up for the slow beginning.
