This was the best book in the Throne of Glass series so far. I didn’t feel very connected to Celaena as a character until this book. After reading, I feel like I understand her more. I am also looking forward to reading the next book, since it left off with such a cliffhanger! I’m still not sure how Manon fits into the story just yet. I feel like all of the witches and parts with Bryaxis was for nothing??? I know it probably fits in later, I just don’t understand how yet.

it gets knocked down .25 stars just because i didn't understand some stuff and because i'm not a fan of insta-love so i felt like dorian and sorsha could have had more build-up.

This one was slower than the rest... felt like a way to build up the next book rather than something that stands well on its own, but there’s never a dull moment in this series so I really can’t complain. I’m enjoying this world a lot!

Re-read. Things are picking up in the story and we get to come along as our FMC begins laying the groundwork to keep her promises. After a certain point...maybe just after halfway...everything is falling into place and escalating to where I could not stop reading.
