O man, I can't explain why, but I absolutely love adult m/m romance set in a high school scenario. The slightly magical twist in this made for some really fun scenarios, although I think this could have been executed even better. After the initial shock, the two main characters manage to navigate their "new" lives a little too quickly. I would have just expected a little more conflict with this. Most of the conflict seemed to revolve around their school activities, which is an interesting point of conflict, but overall, they never seemed to struggle too much with it.

I did really like how the two main characters started to grow closer to each other over the course of the story. This book might not be the best romance I've ever read, but it gave me exactly what I wanted and I love it for that!

I really liked this book! It was recommended by one of my bf, when I told them I was looking for a New adult lgbtq+ read, and I have to say I was a bit worried about it being too explicit (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just some executions are more tasteful than others), but I was pleasantly surprised. This book, did reminded me of the movie Boy/girl thing in a lot of ways, but it was definitely more than that, the dynamics and the chemistry between the characters was amazing, and it was there from the beginning.

I was one of the proofreaders on this book, so I'm not going to rate it, but it's adorable and I loved it.

It's no secret that Jay Northcote is an autobuy author for me. Or that her audiobooks are a regular feature of my car journey to work. Her books are feel-good cute without being cloyingly sweet with sympathetic characters that have you rooting for their happy ever after.

In Into You the characters are younger than Jay would normally write them, Scott and Olly are both 18, but this doesn't affect the writing in any way, although I'm surprised how little time either guy spends on the playstation. I found both boys absolutely adorable, but as the book progressed my heart really went out to Scott.

A little bit of magic brings these former best friends back into each others lives in the most extreme way possible and allows them to sort out the issues that had driven them apart 4 years earlier.

This book is a gorgeous coming out story with a well rounded cast of characters and two endearing leads. It has some interesting points to make about being trapped in the wrong body and coming to terms with who you are. But ultimately it is a story of rekindling a friendship, and of taking that next step. Complete with magic and a witch elderly neighbour with a black cat, it is the best kind of fairy tale.

This book was exactly what I needed today, a little bit of magic, a lot of sweet and a fabulous story about two lovely lads. As always with a Jay Northcote book I've come away with a smile on my face and another book to add to my reread list, Jay's books are my happy place <3

Another wonderful romance from Jay Northcote

4.5* This book makes you smile with its little hint of magic and mystery, the humour and the full flush of young love.

I love body swapping stories so this was right up my alley and it was very well done, a 'realistic' twist to get two best friends who'd fallen apart from each other to realise that what they'd had at the age of 14 really was something special.

Olly and Scott were well rounded characters, each unique with their own distinct voice and expressions. The setting was also firmly laid down with the English flavour of secondary school, A Levels (arghhhhhh they're a nightmare!), football and school plays, and the excitement of university.

There's not a lot in the way of steam, it's light as I'd expect when the MCs are just 18 but what there is has passion and emotion and a feeling of true connection.

Jay is one of my favourite authors and I don't think I've ever failed to be entertained by one of her stories.

Very cute classic second chance, friends to lovers from Jay with a twist. And I have to say when I saw that fantasy tag, I felt a whine coming on. As a rule, I don't choose paranormal, fantasy, etc books. I prefer my romance grounded in reality. But every so often I am surprised and this was a treat. If you've ever seen the movie "Freaky Friday" with Jamie Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, then you'll get the drift. Have to say I had a hard time remembering Olly was Scott and Scott was Olly but after a while it sunk in. Had the mean girl thing going on with Amy but really enjoyed how Scott took on Olly's life and vice versa for Olly. As usual, got a little bogged down in Jay's descriptions of A levels and revisions (I am a US girl!) but Google is my friend. A lovely story of two guys who've been friends since they were kids, lose their way and become frenemies, run into a bit of magic and end with a lovely HEA.
