Book #5 of March & #24 for 2024-
“Matching All The Way”- Veronica Eden.
Tropes: Brother’s Best Friend, Coaches Daughter, Hockey Romance, Secret Friends with Benefits to Lovers.
Overall Rating: 3-4⭐️’s for plot & 2🌶️’s for spice.
Because this is the third book in the series and I had previously enjoyed the first two books, I went into this book with high expectations and I was let down a bit. My only two complaints were that the book read so slowly (it took me over 4 days to finish), and I feel like the couple was hiding their relationship for majority of the book (I feel like it was a secret too long). I will still purchase and read the fourth book, just wasn’t my favorite.
Below are some of my favorite quotes:
  1. Page 29: “I’m still stuck on seeing him on the ice in skates again. It takes me right back to my secret infatuation from when we were younger. He still looks just as good in a pair of skates- better, honestly. There’s always been this sense that he’s at home when he’s on the ice and it’s no different now”.
  2. Page 73: “Was she always this much of a temptation? Her laughter and smiles made my chest feel funny, but now whenever she’s around it’s like she’s the sun in the room. And I’m the planet that doesn’t know how to fight the pull of her orbit”.
  3. Page 110: “I don’t care. I can’t. Because right now every fiber of my being is fixated on this moment. Ten seconds. That was all it took for me to decide I’m missing Eve tonight. Less- far fucking less- if I’m counting every moment I’ve ever thought about kissing her”.
  4. Page 171: “I think you’d look so fucking pretty tied up for me. I’ve thought about it all damn day. You on your knees, wrists bound with one of those ribbons you like to wear in your hair”.
  5. Page 187-188: “Remember the audiobook you were reading? Yes. You want to listen to a romance book right now? I thought we were going to-. We’re going to listen together and act it out”.
  6. Page 191: “You taste like heaven, Christ, I want to have you like this always, Evie. Those luscious legs wrapped around my head and your sweet cries filling my ears. Every minute of the day I don’t spend with my head buried in your pussy is a fucking waste”.
  7. Page 243: “Umm. You didn’t see anything. We saw nothing. We know nothing. I’m serious, not a word to anyone. Got it, coach. Blake. For real. Your secrets going to the grave. We won’t let you down”.
  8. Page 259: “You can do anything you want with me. You can kneel over me and fuck my mouth. Flip me over and fill my pussy. Use me”.
  9. Page 278: “That being with him has shown me what being in love truly is. He’s had my heart for months-years if I count all the moments in our life he’s stolen pieces of it with his charming smiles and loyal friendship”.

MATCHING ALL THE WAY was so much fun and I loved Eve and Cole! These two had so much chemistry together and their sexy scenes were off the charts spicy, especially with Cole being such a dirty talker. I also really enjoyed seeing more of the Heston U hockey team and I can't wait to get more of their stories.

The book covers almost an entire year and while I liked it I did feel it was a bit long and the amount of time they kept their relationship a secret was unnecessary. I never really got the gravity of why they felt they couldn't tell Eve's dad and brother about them, especially once they got serious. Eve and Cole made a way bigger deal about it then it actually was.

This kind of read like a first novel, with wattpad style cheap drama (how many guys will only want Eve and won’t take no for an answer unless being threatened and manhandled by Cole?).  Eve’s ADHD was well represented in the beginning, but toward the end it became an excuse for Cole to take care of her over and over again, and kind of baby her. We get it, he’s good to her, but she’s still a capable adult with coping strategies even if she gets anxious or overwhelmed. It undermined her strength to need emotionally rescuing so many times in the last 50 pages.

Overall a decent read, but this author’s style isn’t for me.

This was so good!!!!! Veronica Eden can write some yummy spicy scenes! I loved how their relationship grew and progressed. I love a book with no 3rd act breakup this was all around so excellent!

**ARC REVIEW

This book is so cute! It’s difficult sometimes to find a good brother’s best friend trope but this one had it all..

This was my first book by Veronica Eden and I was more than happy with the results, I’m obsessed with her writing
