Written by female Asian poets, this collection of poetry reminded me of my own experience; as a young girl; as a daughter; as a woman. Poetry is a way of expressing the most tender of emotions and the most vulnerable and honest experiences. More than anything, I applaud these poets for being so willing to share their experience with the world and to allow others to see through their eyes.

Despite not being a trained literature student, this collection was nothing daunting to understand and to relate to. The themes that they covered were everyday experiences that sometimes I took for granted. Through the line breaks, emphasis and paragraphs, these poems draw attention to the often neglected narratives that line a woman's experience of the world.
p.s. I particularly loved 'Lessons from Grandfather' !!
