I loved it. I couldn’t put it down and even bought this one and the two before it on audible and have reread each one more than once. I love how Gerard made an appearance again and so did Chatterbox. Chatterbox has quickly become one of my favorite characters for the amount of appropriate sassing he gives to Patrick. Jono approves haha.

Patrick and Jono!! Can my review just be me sighing over how perfect these two are together? I loved how solid Patrick and Jono's relationship felt in ALL SOULS NEAR & NIGH. They're not perfect by any means but they trust each other and communicate their thoughts and feelings often. They haven't said "I love you" yet but it's there in all their actions and their dedication to each other. And I adored growly and protective Jono looking out for Patrick (especially since Patrick is so bad at looking out for himself).
There is a ton of action in this one and also some important maneuvering of the magical power players in New York City. I also felt like some of the world building was better explained in this one so that helped cement a few areas where I was still working things out. I thought it was interesting how much Patrick's actions are often outside the normal mortal law and how that corresponds to his work as a Supernatural Operations Agent. He frequently has to work with supernatural creatures that are by no means "good guys" and I'm curious to see how this might continue to develop in the series.
We see a lot of the same characters in this one but we're also introduced to some Aztec gods and a new side character, Wade, an always hungry teenage dragon. I loved Wade to pieces and I can't wait to see him grow and gain confidence and probably drive Patrick and Jono a little bit crazy. I also loved Sage who is such a badass and I love the little pack that Jono is forming.

“Keep an eye on Patrick. Don’t let him do anything stupid.”
“Ask for a miracle, why don’t you.”

Another fast paced adventure with Patrick and Jono
Greek gods, God Pack Alphas who just need to be locked in a box and thrown in a river (my own opinion), Aztec gods, and vampires being arrogant and stupid. Through all of this, I rooted for Patrick and Jono, and the found family they are creating. Explosions, magic, fighting, bloodshed, mythical beings and romance. What more do you need?

For a book series I kinda hated for the first quarter of book one, deciding I'd have to slog through it just to finish, I'm impressed that after having finished book two I'm deeply invested in the characters.
I'm actively looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
