Although I really liked the writing of the book, the universe depicted, the imagery, as for the plot, I couldn’t see it as something other than a man cheating on his wife out of « desire » for a woman he knew absolutely nothing about.

This was a beautifully written, quiet book. It was almost calming in its simplicity. The repetition of some sections was almost like a meditaton of sorts. I found this to be a lovely book which I may reread when I'm in need of something soothing. At its heart it is a love story and a journey but there is something more "spiritual" than that for lack of a better word. I really enjoyed this small yet powerful book.

Writing as smooth and soft as silk.

He cheated once, but it felt like he was cheating all the time, for he cheated with his heart, soul and mind. This book teaches us about the things we desire with all our heart, but could never have, the agony of it, how painful and sad it is to want something so much… but never to have it. It also teaches us how much, and how tenderly and softly a woman can love, her love as soft as silk and as hard to find as it is to find silkworms. The desire to be THE woman, the other woman…

'It is a strange sort of pain.'
'To die of yearning for something you'll never experience.’

‘You were dead.’
She said.
'And in the whole world there was nothing beautiful left.’
