this was so, so cute but Lord I was terrified of a crappy ending for a minute there. Wish we could’ve learned more about the magic that made the town even exist, but I’ll stay content with the broody bookseller nonetheless. You can definitely tell Ashley Poston is from South Carolina! She’s got that Southern charm down pat.

This was a cute book! I didn’t love the audiobook, to be totally honest. There was something about the way it was read that just made it slightly hard for me to listen to. I will also say that it felt a little on the nose to me at the beginning. It was a little heavy handed with all the exposition about the series and characters.

All that said, I was definitely a fan of the MMC and the storyline he had; it was just the right amount of predictable in that I didn’t see it coming right from the start, but once the pieces were in place I was able to figure it out.

I do think I liked the setting. Other than the start of the novel, once I got into it was definitely fun and new/original; it also set up the message of the novel really well.

I would like to read more of Poston’s work, because I really liked the writing!

one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2024! I ran to barnes the day it released because I was so excited.
the cover is stunning & the summary had me hooked.

however, the story fell flat for me… I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters and I wasn’t super on the edge of my seat to see how it would end, it was just okay to me. disappointed, but still 3 stars for the cute & cozy vibes of disappearing into your favorite small fictional town, alexa play i hate it here by taylor swift!
