Well done for a 17-year-old (LMA's age when she wrote it), but the plot is a little too convenient and the characters a little too one-sided/one-dimensional. It definitely gives dreamy young adult vibes. A fun little story, and essential reading for any Alcott fan.

The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott – I love Edith almost as much as I love Jo March! And that is saying something! Happy Reading!

I saw the movie version of this novel on tv in the 90s and love it. I finally got around to reading it and having no memory of the details of the movie I found it a fun and quick read. It is impressive that she wrote this at 17. Edith is the heart of sincerity, loyalty, and truth. I rewatched the movie this afternoon and it has many differences but I really enjoyed it also.
