‘Lord, if you’re up there somewhere, and you aren’t too busy, come and say a few words to me, because I’m very lonely and it would make me so happy.’

I sobbed so hard with this. I love everything about this book, that it makes me ponder on humanity as I was going through it. Devastation would be the greatest depiction of what this book brought to me. I want to staple each and every word from this piece into my brain. Please read it.

Ordinarily a book that poses questions and then leaves them unanswered is frustrating. However, in this instance it leads you to the point of the book which is to consider what makes a human, human. Aside from dystopian it is difficult to define the genre of this book however I think it’s a book most readers should read as it is unlike anything else.

Very unusual book, but I loved it. Would have thought that it would leave me unsatisfied but actually the questions unanswered were what made this such a special and kind of philosophical read.

It's been a long time since a novel made me cry and this book had me feeling emotions I didn't know my grinch heart could experience. The final line alone left me broken for days. If you're interested in a short book that challenges you to consider humanity, womanhood, the things that make us who we are set in a post-apocalyptic landscape that seems to never end then I HIGHLY recommend this read. 4.5 out of 5 ⭐.
