DNF and I probably won’t. Couldn’t get past the first 50 pages. Tillie Cole’s writing style was intriguing and beautiful. The Alice in Wonderland theme was interesting and would of loved to explore that more but reading about children being drugged and molested is too trigger for me.

“A corrupt angel corrupted by me, agent of the devil himself.
The perfect pairing.”

A twisted revenge and love story that retells around Alice in the wonderland & Suicide squad: Harley Quinn and Joker.

This book is not for the faint of heart. Even tough I just recently started to read dark romance, this book might be in the Top 5.

This story is about Ellis EarnShaw. One day, at the age of 7, she meets Heathen James, age 9. On the day they meet, Ellis knew that he was different:

"The first time I met Heathan James he was picking the wings off a butterfly.
When I asked him why, he turned his light gray eyes my way and said,
"Because I want to watch it die."

Yes butterflies…

Heathan also gave a new name to Ellis since he felt that it didn’t her… and vice versa:

"No." Heathan shook his head.
"No what?"
"You're Dolly."
I looked at my doll again. "I don't understand," I said, crinkling up my nose.
I was so confused.
He pointed at me. "You're not called Ellis.
Your name is Dolly. I decided on it yesterday. You look exactly like your doll.
I named you Dolly. I don't like Ellis. It's a stupid name. It doesn't suit you."
I stared at him in shock, then looked down at my doll. I smiled again. "I like that." Heathan quickly looked away.

And she names Heathan the Rabbit:

"Heathan," I
whispered eagerly as I looked down at my doll. At my clothes. I looked at his waistcoat, then down at the pocket watch.
"The White Rabbit." I scrambled forward and sat right in front of him. Heathan didn't move. "The watch You're just like the White Rabbit from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.'
I laughed and I laughed.
"Rabbit." I pointed at his chest. "Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock…. . you're Rabbit!"
"Dolly."
"Rabbit!" I agreed and smiled at our new
names. "Dolly and Rabbit. Alice followed the rabbit down the rabbit hole. He took her to Wonderland. He took her from her dull world and into one of bright colors and magical creatures." I squeezed my doll. "And now I have met you. Have you come to show me a new world"

But unfortunately for them, the will be stuck in a severe traumatic scenario… that not only did it traumatize their lives forever but only me, as a reader.
Their story is heart wrenching and I almost teared up… some parts are descriptive.
But through it all, I love the Alice in the Wonderland Murder plot.

They find each other, I think 11 years later, Rabbit aka Heathen goes to see his Dolly aka Ellis, and avenge their ruined childhood. And Rabbit first starts with teaching her on how to hold/use a knife and gun:
"Born to kill," he announced in a low
graveled voice. "To kill by my side.”

We see how both Mc’s loves each other dearly and how one can’t leave without the other:

"Heathan James was never the light in my
life, but instead a heavy eclipse, blotting
out the sun and anything bright, bringing with him endless, eternal night and murderous tar-black blood pumping through my veins.
Heathan James was the genesis of my soul's reawakening a soul not meant for peace, but one handcrafted for death and murder and blood and bones.
Soulmates forged in fire, under the
watchful gaze of Satan's mocking eyes.
Heathan. Ellis.
Just a couple of sick fux.”

TW: grooming; pedophilia; rape; abuse; child gang-rape; murder; blood & gore; blood play:

"Red, the color of blood.Red means stop.
Red means danger." He looked up at me, a stunning, sinister smile on his face. "It is the liquid that both delivers and takes life.”
