I still think I liked A Thousand Splendid Suns better, but this is a powerful emotional book. I loved the characters and the realism portrayed. Glad I finally got around to reading this.

I still never stop talking about this book and that's how much hooked I am to it...!! Amir feels more like my reflection and Hassan is like the loyal friend everyone wants to have. I can never begin to narrate how closely the tragedy of the characters tore me apart or how much it told me of Afghanistan's past. I also developed an interest in Farsi through Khaled's works. YOU GOT TO READ THIS BOOK!!! there's so much and I am afraid of spilling the secrets, but, gotta tell you- it's one of my best reads!

Beautifully written.
“there is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. When you kill a man, you steal a life... you steal his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a ather. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness... there is no act more wretched than stealing.”

We analysed this in high school, and it’s still one of my favourites. Such an amazing book
