Still loving it...
I love this story and the way various gods have been interwoven through the story. There's nothing too complicated here, but that's a-okay with me. There's too many convoluted fantasy type stories out there and they get so bogged down by lore and I drown in a sack of bricks of the author's making trying to keep all the pieces straight in my head.
There's also plenty of drama, but I don't feel like my heart is gonna leap out of my chest, so that's fine, too. I don't always want to be traumatised by what I'm reading, either! Only sometimes.

I’m still enjoying this series. I’m glad the main characters have started on the mystery of their animal companions. This is also a very unique RH based on matriarchy. While this is a RH romance, it’s also post apocalyptic with some fantasy elements. Interested to see where the next book goes!

She said it like it was a silly, childish confession, but it meant everything to me. Here it was, the place where I could fit. The calm in her storm, her anchor and her safety.
Reading these way too fast to actually remember where one book starts and another ends. They are best read back to back, no true endings between each book, just one long epic story.
So in love with these books at the moment, it's hard to put them down and deal with actual real life.
Still not convinced the supernatural stuff is really needed, it's such a small portion. Not sure that's really even a complaint, but it's very low key.
Also Shadow is amazing. And I love Jandro too. I mean I love all of them, but still. lol
Forget the good cop, bad cop routine from the movies. We were all fucking bad.

A great series continues!
I love this author, and especially this series so far. I hate crying, but it did happen at one point in this book! Despite me not LIKE crying, I do love a book that can make me feel deeply enough about characters or the plot to make it happen if something occurs. I already know more tears will happen in upcoming books! However, there's also smiles, laughs, and warm bubbly feelings to more than even it out. :)
