This is such a wonderful book. The characters are brought to life and I feel as if I've known them all of my life.
It's one of those books that makes me long for more after I finish it. I know their stories are not finished and I want more!!! Hats off to Susan Wiggs. Thank you for your excellent work.

Even though this book isn't the genre, I typically read, I picked it up because I thought it would be a fun read. I love to sew and figured it would be fun to read about someone else who also does. Boy, was I wrong. This book was poorly written with repetitive language. The characters were all too perfect, but mostly this book screams of white saviour complex. It's gross and I couldn't even finish it because of that. Save your time and read something else.

I definitely enjoyed this book the back and forth in the timeline was a nice change of pace. But I did feel as though the end came a bit to quickly everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow in two chapters!! I would have liked to have read more about how things came to end. We didn’t get everyone’s reactions and in some ways I’m sitting here wondering ‘how did they get here?’!!

DNF at 30% - I hardly ever leave a book unfinished but this was just not for me
