Now THIS is what I call a sequel! It's been a minute since I read the first book in the series, but Holly Jackson does a great job at dropping you back into this small town with more secrets than it can keep. Pip has vowed to attempt to solve a crime again for her safety as well as the safety of those she holds dear; however, as the quote states, mysteries find their way to her doorstep. Connor, one of the kids in her grade, approaches her and begs her to help find his missing brother. Since no one else will help him, she decides she must take on this missing person's case. Jackson carefully lays out the clues for this case as the trial for events in the previous book plays out in the background. I loved the podcast element of this book as well. The ending is a mixed back of emotions but I simply cannot wait to see what Pippa gets up to in the final installment of this series.
Minor: Child death, Death, Child abuse, Stalking, Sexual harassment, Injury/Injury detail, Kidnapping, Fire/Fire injury, Drug use, Rape, Blood, and Gun violence

- C: by now you know the main characters quite well, i still get confused with te side characters though. i coulnd't describe them in more than two sentences if i had to & when charlie green turned out to be the catfish i was trying to figure out who his is during the whole chapter...
- P: it definitely didn't go where i thought it would, but over all i found it a bit wired. the whole child brunswick thing was super interesting and gave a cool twist, but the way it played out... idk. i was definitely expecting something different
- L: i don't know with these murder mysteries... there are always thing that don't make that much sense to me. the whole layla meads thing, how did she get in contact with all possible child bronswicks over tinder or instagram..? hwo did nobody notice that she used pictures of some student, i thought kilton was a small town. why did stanley keep jamey in his bathroom for seven days??? like whaat? like i get he was scared but whaaat?
- E: it was entertaining, would i listen to it again? no.
