I enjoy the strong women heroines and the glimpses into the underbelly of Regency London society; but there is always *something* about each book that annoys me and pulls me out of the story. I really don't think Lucia needed to slip in the Italian vocabulary as often as she did, for no reason except to remind us, time and time again, apparently, that she comes from Italy. I liked the close community of people who ran the Orchid Club, and I liked Lucia's vision of giving back to society. This was a very hot romance, but I don't love everything about it.

A woman managing a sex club in regency England. That is quite the premise. Throw in a man who inherits the club unexpectedly and has already fallen for the manager and you have great potential.
This book was okay. It did not have the unusual female and the accidental duke but the characters are outside the ton.
The characters were slightly flat and there was not much to the story.
Not terrible but not as good as I’d hoped.
