Robin Cook book #8
One of the better Cook books - a little too long and a lot of suspend belief but for a wacky conspiracy theory type book int was good
No relation to the 90's movie in case you were wondering

medical thriller by Robin Cook (as usual). I liked this book because I just cant ignore doctor cum sleuth heroines and their various side kicks, one of them inevitably turning out to be the villain. I read Robin Cook in my formative medical undergraduate years and I have a fond memory of all his books.
Outbreak is a thrilling and a gripping read. Author has done a brilliant job in bringing an esoteric field like medicine and biology into a thriller/crime genre. The writing is lucid. The story started of brilliantly and carried the suspense and thrill till the end.
However, i expected the story to be a more like medical thriller ( search for a cure and fight against a disease) rather than a crime thriller it turned out to be . Nevertheless, it was a good and a quick read.

It was entertaining. I especially like that robin cook is a medical doctor, so the medicine part is accurate (as accurate as a detective/medical thriller can be). Yet, the ending was very predictable which made it only a four star, and i got to the final score of three stars by the end wich was very hastily made. It’s as if the author ran out of time and just had to hand in his work. I wouldn’t have minded a couple of more pages with a more elaborate ending.
