I didn't enjoy this one as much as the darkest minds. Which is weird, i usually always love book two in a trilogy the most. Don't get me wrong, i do like the book! Never fade should have been split into two. There were too many things smashed into one story. This book was very GO, GO, GO! I did enjoy all of the action. It lives up to the darkest minds in that aspect. I can not wait to get my hands on the third book! I am eager to see what will happen with ruby and all of the others. I also hope that Zu will make an appearance.

I think this book is a step up from the last one. She does use that phrase " let out the breath I didn't know I was holding" multiple times again. I think she is very descriptive but does use the same terms over and over again. This is the second time i am reading this one and I did not remember a single thing about it. I love the relationships in this series. They seem genuine and i could feel the emotions the characters were feeling.

I loved to reconnect with the characters that we loved from book one, as well as meeting new ones that I love as well. It is so interesting to see Ruby working through becoming better and better at using her abilities and the consequences of that. She has developed so much, and I have loved seeing that. While I enjoyed this book a lot and found it to be less predictable than the first book, there were quite a few things that happen that are a bit too convenient. It is very off putting to see these things happen because there is little explanation and makes the plot a less interesting because after a twist you find out nothing actually changed. This was my only issue with this book. Overall I found it to be very enjoyable and am excited to read book 3 next.

It was amazing! I actually loved this book more than the first one. There was so much more going on in the second book. The only part that I found a bit awkward was how Bracken describes Ruby's feelings and thoughts for some of the relationships she has in the novel (trying not to spoil!) It was almost too....romantic? tender? It just seemed to go too far. Other than that, AMAZING.

Eh. Road trip, get caught, get knocked out. Road trip, get caught, get knocked out. More terrified road trip, more fear of capture. It just goes on and on.
