This was suppose to be read first but oh well. I really liked October and Mae in The Red Zone but I didn’t like Abel as much, he seemed a bit flat throughout the book and didn’t have me giggling kicking my feet like the other book did. Though he had a personality at least in this book. He was completely forgotten about in the Red Zone. An afterthought. I LOVED Scarlett tho! She is the book girlfriend! I related to her so much and she was just great.
I liked the fake dating trope in here tho. The boss employee romance not so much. The big reveal I already knew from the Red Zone so it only frustrated me more when it was happening. Like yelling at the book.
It took me so long to realize why he calls her Red. I know I’m dumb.
There was not really an explanation on how they met Lea but I assume it was when Scarlett brought the team muffins. Hopefully it’s in Lea’s book. But the mentions of Lea in these books doesn’t leave much to be told in her book because we basically know she got with Fortune against her father’s rules and got pregnant. I still really dislike the epilogue in the Red Zone with the pregnancies. Pregnancy in the epilogue is second worse to the surprise pregnancy trope. Why is it so common?

I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum but there were a couple things in this book that made me have to put it down and be like wtf. It was an easy enemies to lovers but I won’t be shouting from the rooftops about this book.
Booktok got me with this one. That one stupid line. Wasn’t worth it
fast-paced
Great story however I don’t like it when people are obviously oblivious to something so it gets prolonged stupidly. Overall as a couple they were cute and I read it in one day!
Never has an Instagram recommendation disappointed me as much as this one (that I remember at this moment, there may be).
Abel was sweet, yes, I don't deny it. But his awkwardness hurt me more that it enchanted me. I mean, the whole food thing. Seriously? Couldn't he at least be a little more discreet about it at least?
Scarlett, well, she was not my piece of cake. What she does to that dress? I mean, really?
And that thing that drama at the third act, it was totally predictable, both on what was going to be the problem and what was going to be the truth.
I tried, but I couldn't really like any of the characters. The clinginess, the bitchiness, the lack of personality, the speed of everything that did not let me process a single thing.
I mean, I don't know.
It certainly was not my type of book.
