Such a cute book, I liked it a lot! It all tied together in the end and I loved that so much. Fell in love with all the characters, liked this book a lot.

I loved the narration! Typically, this is not my preferred genre, so I was struggling to read the ebook. Once, I switched to the audio, my interest was piqued and I was gladly along for the adventure. In some places, it did seem a little slow, and I found myself experiencing some of the same feelings as our main character, Viv. Overall, this was a great listen and I can’t wait to continue the series.
As someone who absolutely loved Legends & Lattes, I was really excited to read this prequel. I was looking forward to more of that cozy, feel-good vibes, but unfortunately, this book just didn’t deliver for me.
I did enjoy getting to know Viv’s backstory and seeing her grow as a character. The characters overall are still loveable, which is one of the things I love about Travis Badree’s writing. Characters aside, I found the plot to be slow and tedious. At times, I wasn’t invested in what was happening, and I even had to re-read a few chapters because I got confused, lost interest or lost track of the storyline.
The pacing dragged in a lot of places, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged. Honestly, the most compelling part for me was the epilogue—mainly because it connected back to Legends & Lattes and teased a bit of what might come next.
I still adore the characters in this world, and I really want to keep enjoying this series. But Bookshops & Bonedust left me disappointed, and I’m hoping the next book brings back the intrigue that made me love Legends & Lattes so much 🥲

I treasure every moment I get to spend in this cozy universe Baldree has created.
