before i finished this book, i debated on rating it a 4/5 stars because some details in the book didn’t add up to me. HOWEVER, the ending absolutely wrecked me and i understand why the author did what she did. overall, i loved this book and i can’t wait to read more of Kristin Hannah’s books.

So, so good. Right up there with The Bronze Horseman (Paulinna Simons). Same war, different countries, both excruciating and beautifully written.

I'm not normally a historical fiction type of reader but this one came so highly recommended that I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I thought everything about it was perfect, the story, the narration...all of it! I even went out and bought the book to add to my library. You have to listen to this one!
