Because you are beautiful. I enjoy looking at beautiful people, and I decided a while ago not to deny myself the simpler pleasures of existence

This was one of the first books that made me fall in love with reading. The characters are absolutely wonderful and amazing in all unique ways. I love the friendships, the bonds, everything. The made up book- An Imperial Affliction- was a brilliant idea tbh.

This books has my heart. I love it so much, you can’t imagine. The bonds, the friendships, the quotes, EVERYTHING. Absolute perfect. Though I think the metaphor thing about cigarettes is quite weird and waste of money buying new pack of cigarettes, I still think the idea of it was brilliant (the metaphor, not buying more pack of cigarettes)
I love how the characters live their life to the fullest, even though they know death is around the corner. Loved like the world revolves around them.

Now about the author, if only I can email him like how Hazel Grace emailed Peter Van Houtten, I would totally give him a lecture. John Green, you and I need some serious talking. Though you’re brilliant at your writing, genius and amazing, I hate you. I’m kidding. But how could you? How could you possibly write the ending? Have you got no heart? Unmerciful, heartless writer you are. I dared wish for their sweet happy ending, but as Augustus Waters said and I quote “The world is not a wish granting factory.” And you really proved that in your book. sigh

Heartbreaking and depressing as it is, I love this book with all my heart. Comfort book? Yes. Very ironic. But still, 5 stars <3

my rating is actually a 3.5

this book was a good book, and really easy to read. but i didn’t really get too into it??? if that makes any sense, like i was enjoying the storyline and whatnot, but something was holding me back from really getting into it. it may have been all the “smart” talk, they had. i did really love reading their deeper conversations, but some stuff i didn’t really understand what was being said.

another thing is i had such an up and down relationship w hazel’s character. some points i really liked her, but there were some moments where she’d say or think something that was kinda annoying or just plain rude imo. oh and augustus waters is definitely a good character. i was v emotional w his death and everything that lead up to it, even tho i have seen the movie years before so i knew that before reading the book lol. it still hit me in the feels.

i did love following the storylines of two teenagers that were dealing w serious illnesses, and how they fall in love in the midst of everything that they’re going through.
