it was ok. the "teens got cancer" trope is super common in asian media, which is my main thing, so this was nothing new to me.
I knew this was going to be an emotional book before I read it, and was it ever. Yet, even with the subject matter, it somehow still manages to be hopeful...not so much for the characters, but for humanity as a whole.
I read all but the first two chapters in one sitting (I started it very late at night and had to work the next day or I would have read it all in one sitting).
PS If you've never seen any of John Green's videos on YouTube, you should check them out. I know he has a rabid fan base, but even as an occasional viewer, I enjoy his stuff.

Completely annihilated the second half in one sitting. I knew it was a banger. To tackle the idea of your own death while being so young is so complicated.

Bien, tengo que decir que empecé el libro con muy pocas ganas, porque me esperaba la típica historia de adolescente sarcástico enfermo que se enamora de otro adolescente sarcástico enfermo. Y bueno, es exactamente eso.
En general, me gustó más de lo que esperaba, es una historia entretenida y cortita que pasa rápido... Pero ahí se queda.
Sinceramente, si es un libro diseñado para removerte el corazoncito... Conmigo no lo ha conseguido. Ni he llorado, ni he tenido ganas en ningún momento. A pesar de todo el drama que intenta reflejar la historia a mi no me ha llegado, así como los personajes, que me daban un poco igual. A unas 20 páginas del final ya estaba aburrida y deseando que se terminase el libro porque lo demás me sobraba... Lo siento, pero es así. Otras historias que no tienen tanto dramatismo me han llegado más y me han hecho llorar, no como esta.
Le doy dos estrellas y no una, porque sí que es verdad que me entretuvo un poquito más de lo que pensaba... Pero yo, sinceramente, no lo recomendaría demasiado...
