I read this book as part of the StoryGraph yearly challenge! Excited to branch out and read something I wouldn’t normally pick up. Although on the shorter side it did make me want to keep reading but overall the writing was simple and I figured out the answer early on.

What a wonderfully suspenseful and satisfying mystery! I loved the teen sleuth teaming up with the curmudgeonly detective to solve a pretty gruesome serial killer mystery.

I did not know what to expect when I first started reading so most of the book came as a pleasant surprise. This book presented a unique mystery with a touch of the speculative in setting that I rarely read books set in. This translated work loses no charm and shows how life circumstances can age up a child beyond their years. I will definitely continue with this series.
