Scarred: The True Story of How I Escaped Nxivm, the Cult That Bound My Life by Sarah Edmondson

More like 3.5 stars. I got all of these stories and anecdotes just from Listening to Sarah and Nippy’s podcast. But definitely a look into the insane cult of DOS. I would love to read a memoir from Lauren or Allison Mack. Or even India. Would love another side to this story.

Also a book that feels wrong to rate. Interesting. Slightly ecocentrical tone I'm thr book but maybe that is to be expected of a autobiography at times?

This was a fascinating account of a truly strong and courageous person. On the other hand, Keith Raniere is truly scum of the earth and deserves to never see the light of fucking day.

This was SO good. It’s crazy to think that this can happen and that this was SO recent! I remember seeing when the people got arrested from NXIVM and not really knowing what happened aside from some sex trafficking. This book was so insightful. Sarah Edmondson is brave for sharing her story.

Love hearing Sarah’s story as I have been a long time fan of her podcast. The book offered a lot of background on NXIVM and her experience.
